Club York Recognised in the 2024 Clubs & Community Awards
On the 8
th June, 2024, the annual Clubs & Community Awards were held at the ICC in Sydney.
The Clubs & Community Awards are a celebration of all the great contributions that clubs are making across NSW. There were eight categories of awards with over 100 finalists.
We are pleased to announce that Club York was the Winner of the ‘Mental Wellbeing Category’, a new category entered in this year’s awards. Our award was for our support of the Sydney Male Choir who have been operating in Sydney since 1913.
The Sydney Male Choir is such an important community group that provides an essential opportunity for men in terms of social inclusion, mental health, fostering friendships and of course participating in the joy of music well into the twilight years. The support of Club York means that the Sydney Male Choir has certainty of its existence provided by both financial support and by giving the choir a home where they are felt welcome and included.
Club York was also a finalist in the ‘Fostering Grass Roots Sport’ Category for the support and sponsorship over the past 7 years.
Club York is honoured to be a big part of the revival of such an iconic part of Rugby League history by bringing back what is thought to be the oldest club in Rugby League history into the Ron Massey Cup. In doing so we are also proud to be supporting and creating opportunities for great sporting talent.
We thank Clubs NSW for allowing the opportunity to showcase the wonderful collaboration that our club has with our community.
