Morning Tea for a Cause — Thank You From All of Us at Club York
Reflecting on our Daffodil Day fundraiser at MEZA Bar & Grill.
Last Thursday, 20 August, the Level 1 dining room at MEZA Bar & Grill was filled with quiet daffodils, warm coffee, familiar faces, and one very good reason to be there.
Club York was proud to host Morning Tea for a Cause in support of the Cancer Council's Daffodil Day appeal — and the response from our members, staff and guests was nothing short of moving.
A morning made by the people who showed up
From the moment the doors opened at 9:30am, tables filled steadily. Longtime members, first-time visitors, colleagues, friends, and neighbours from the CBD all came together over morning tea and a shared purpose. Every table carried a single daffodil — a small yellow reminder of why we were all there.
Alongside the morning tea, our Raffle for a Cause ran throughout the morning, drawn at 11:00am to a full room. One hundred per cent of proceeds from both the morning tea and the raffle went directly to the Cancer Council.
We know almost every family has been touched by cancer in some way. Days like this are our small way of standing with those who have been, are, or will be facing it — and with the researchers, clinicians and support teams working every day to change what a cancer diagnosis means.
A quiet thank you to the team behind it
Behind the scenes, our MEZA and Club York teams put weeks of thought into making the morning feel exactly right — from the daffodils on every table to the coffee timed perfectly for the 11am draw. Their dedication and care is something we're proud of every day, but never more so than on days like this.
To every staff member who baked, brewed, plated, poured, folded, ran, and set — thank you.

To every member and guest who bought a ticket, stayed for a coffee, or simply came in to share the morning — thank you. Your support makes moments like this possible, and reminds us exactly why Club York has been part of Sydney for generations.
