Club York | Sydney CBD | Now Open 7 Days
The Race That Stops a Nation — and Three Chances to Be in the Room
There is a particular kind of hush that falls over a room just before the barrier opens on the first Tuesday in November. Glasses pause halfway. Conversations that have run all morning stop mid-sentence. For three minutes and change, a whole country agrees to look in the same direction.
At Club York, we have been doing that hush very well for a very long time.
This year the Melbourne Cup falls on Tuesday 3 November, and we are marking it with lunch in The Clarence Room — newly renovated, and looking every bit the part. Long tables. A proper menu. A room dressed for the occasion and a crowd that has made the effort. It is the CBD's best seat for the first Tuesday in November, and it fills early every year.

And if you would rather win your way in
From Saturday 10 October, we are giving a double pass away every week.
Each Friday night at 7pm we draw one winner from the virtual barrel, and that winner takes two seats at the Melbourne Cup Lunch in The Clarence Room. Three Fridays, three double passes, three chances to be in the room without reaching for your wallet.
Getting an entry is about as simple as it gets. Swipe your membership card at the Player Elite terminal — once a day, every day, for the length of the promotion. Each swipe is another entry in the barrel.
You do not need to be here on the night. If your name comes out, we will call or email you.
