What's On in Sydney CBD This June — Your Club York Guide

From the final nights of Vivid to State of Origin to a city full of theatre — June is one of Sydney's best months. Here's where to be, and where to land at the end of it.

The city dresses up in June. Lights along the harbour, fires lit in every good room, jackets out, slow weekends back on the menu. Sydney CBD doesn't slow down in winter — it sharpens. Here's what's on around the block, and how Club York members are making the most of it.

Vivid Sydney — final nights through Saturday, June 13

The city's biggest event closes out in the first half of the month. The Light Walk from Circular Quay through The Rocks and back along the harbour is at its best on a cold, clear night — bring a coat, take the long way. Lighting of the Sails on the Opera House, the new installations through Walsh Bay, and Vivid Fire Kitchen all run through to closing weekend.

Make a night of it. Walk the lights, then come back into the room. Club York is a three-minute stroll from Town Hall — the fires are on, dinner runs late at The Clarence Room, and the bar pours until close. Members earn double points all weekend.

State of Origin — Game II, Wednesday June 17

The mid-week one that decides the series. Big screens, cold pints, a full house. Club York opens early, members get the best seats in the room, and the kitchen runs a footy-night menu. Bookings open — call the club or drop us a line.

Theatre season — winter is Sydney's best

The CBD's stages are at their loudest in June. Whatever's on at the Capitol, the Lyric, the Theatre Royal or the Opera House, the night doesn't have to end at curtain. Meza opens early for a glass and a graze before the show. PRIMI runs a pre-theatre menu from 5pm — proper Italian, on time, no rushing the table. Curtain down? Bar 99 is pouring late for the debrief. Two hours of validated parking on the building, members get extended — so the car stays put while you do the city.

Sydney Film Festival — early June

The city's longest-running festival takes over the State Theatre and venues across the CBD. Members tell us they're using the Clarence Room as a between-screenings reset — coffee in the afternoon, a glass before the late session.
